תקציר
Nicolas Blarel has done extensive research for his book The Evolution of India's Israel Policy: Continuity, Change, and Compromise since 1992, in which he develops a theoretical model to explain the change in India's attitude towards Israel. In this book, he gives an objective and systematic analysis of India's foreign policy towards West Asia. India's changing relationship with Israel shows a lot about the country's foreign policymaker’s goals, limits, diplomatic skills, and willingness to keep working on problems that don't go away right away. From 1950 when India recognised Israel as a sovereign and independent country, and when official diplomatic ties were made, this was the longest period of silence between the two countries. This has been the biggest mystery in their relationship. The author, Nicolas Blarel, takes this mystery and the changes that occur as a result of the relationship between India and Israel very seriously in this work. The objective of this academic work is to ask and answer a lot of important empirical questions and problems. The Indian government has been silent on the question of why it took almost forty years for diplomatic ties to be established between the two countries.
