English Abstract:The article normatively examines the criminalization and legal regulation of adultery. It utilizes a democratic criminalization model and analyzes adultery in four separate stages. The article shows that adultery is clearly harmful and offensive, and that the criminal law can effectively battle it. However, its criminalization will necessarily be overly narrow, as many other similar acts are not criminalized. The article further examines alternative legal ways to regulate adultery, and recognizes the social price of legal regulation. Eventually the article calls for further discussions.
