<b>English Abstract: </b>This paper suggests a comprehensive approach to research on interactions of Jewish and other legal systems. It proposes methods to answer old questions and open new frontiers of research. Specifically it utilizes system theory, research of dynamics and insights from complexity theory for research of Jewish legal processes. Each methodological argument can be read separately and each should be critically assessed. However, the arguments can also be read as fully intertwined, creating a whole that is greater than its parts. A concluding section discusses the organizational and conceptual challenges that are inherent to this paradigm shift. <b>תקציר בעברית: </b>המאמר מציע גישה כוללנית לחקר יחסי גומלין בין המשפט העברי ושיטות משפט אחרות. המאמר עושה שימוש בחקר מערכות (system theory), חקר יחסים דינמיים ותובנות ממחקר מורכבות (complexity theory ) ומציע בעזרת שיטות אלה מענה לשאלות ישנות כמו גם פתיחה של אופקי מחקר חדשים בחקר תהליכים הלכתיים. כל טיעון וגישה מחקרית ניתנים לקריאה, הערכה וביקורת נפרדים. המחקר מעוצב כך שהוא מזמין גם קריאה של כל הגישות כמשולבים זה בזה וכמייצרים שלם שהוא יותר מסך חלקיו. החלק האחרון דן באתגרים הארגוניים והמושגיים שכרוכים בשינוי הפרדיגמטי המוצע במאמר.
