Kinship by Adoption: Where Adoption Differs from Natural Affinity
מאת Pinhas Shifman
תקציר
We shall attempt to establish whether, in Israeli law, the bond between the adoptee and his natural family is completely severed, on the one hand, and whether he is entirely integrated into the adoptive family, on the other. We shall see that alongside the desire to establish new psychological and social facts by means of adoption, the biological facts, which were ostensibly removed from the picture, continue to leave their mark on the final form of the institution of adoption. Severance from the natural family is not total, and the child's integration into the new family is not such that would place him in exactly the same position as a natural child.
