Either Mine or Dead: Femicide and a Bill to Amend Section 301 of the Israeli Penal Code

The article deals with the socio-legal problems stemming from the application of the common law criminal doctrine of provocation in Israeli case law dealing with the killing of intimate female partners, while offering a socio-legal perspective of the characteristics of such intimate partner homicides. In light of the unique criminological characteristics of such killings (relating to the circumstances, motives and characteristics of the murderers) as well as the correlative Israeli case law precedents applying the doctrine of provocation, the article presents a concrete proposal for the legislative amendment of Section 301 of the Israeli Penal Code.
